Me and a friend of mine have tried stuff in Vista in order to connect both of our laptops. The easy part was setting up a network connection for windows XP. When it came to setting up a network connection in Vista, we couldn't think of a way on how to do it. We couldn't find an option wherein you could connect to a home or small office network using a lan cable. Is it possible to connect a laptop with XP and another one with Vista without using a router?

It is possible, if both computers are shared and you use a cross-over cable.

You should probably use the Ethernet CAble between the two pcs.

Good Luck,
