When you program and you need to create variables, let's say you're working on a program that needs a variable to hold some kind of money for the player, do you get to choose the variable names (within reason) or do you get a list of specific names you have to give variables? Like, could it be

player.coins
player.cash
player.money
etc?

I know this is along the lines of a C++/Java program, and it's probably not coded exactly right, but it's just an example, so please bear with me. ^_^ Thanks.

MY ERROR MESSAGE:

Please explain what this means - I have a desktop and dont want to buy a router but I will because I need to use this software. Any ideas of how I can fix the problem without purchasing a router?

I know you could just use if statements but there's probably a better way to make sure a integer variable is even, and if its odd, it adds one to make it even.

i plan on getting a new desktop, so i need to know if i should get it with vista or save a hundred bucks and get linux.

Im planning to buy a computer with vista, and they tell me I have to pay $80 for this dumb microsoft office or watever with word. any way to avoid paying, by using an older version perhaps? Also, is vista that great? If I buy a computer with Windows XP instead what am I missing out on? Will my gaming needs be hampered?

We are a very small company ( 3 People ). We are looking for a program that can used online that will manage our clients. That way if someone goes online and makes a change to a client, the next person online will see the changes. We just need to manage the names, numbers, notes and maybe a couple custom fields.
