I'll try to answer this question as good as I can, but your question is a little difficult to understand.

If you want to remove gridlines, highlight the cells you want to remove them from, right click them, go to "Format Cells", click on the Borders tab, and remove the lines by clicking on them.

If you want to add a space between the 2 column, you can either highlight all the cells with the total charges in them and "Cut" them, then paste them one column over, or right click on the Column header(A, B, C, D, etc) and choose "Insert". This will add a new column, and a one cell space between the 2 columns.

Don't delete the cells.
Instead, take out all gridlines.
Then reapply by hi-liting only the area you want grid lines to appear on.
Do you see the grid function on your toolbar where you can make lines on top, bottom, right , or left only? There is also a windowpane design (box with cross in it) for full gridlines of the hi-lited area.

To make a row or colum less obvious, (disappear) just narrow the size on that row to 0.

Create your Excel file
Enter data in every-other column

When finished, select the columns (with Control+column letter) which you want to border

click Format
cl Cells
cl Border
cl the line style you want

On the Format Cells window, click the lines you want to border-- inside, outside

You will get an image of what you are doing as you go along. Just keep clicking the "print preview" button to see how you're doing.
