When I restarted it, I opened it and it seemed to have downloaded all the way, how can I be sure?. FYI, it is Windows XP, I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop and my previous IE version was 6. It didn't really freeze, my anti-spyware application just popped up and viewed it as a suspicious program while the download application said "installing core components" or something, but I was able to go the start and restart so it really wasn't frozen, the download application just appeared to have stopped in the background and I couldn't close my ant-spyware window

I am buying a new laptop with windows vista, and 2 gigs of memory. With that in mind I need to know of a good antivirus. I have heard of Norton, and McAffe, but I also heard they slow down you computer. I dont want a free software, (I used a free software on my old computer and got a virus....).

So I suppose what I want is a good antivirus to protect myself on the internet, that wont slow down my computer, and will be with a $60 maximum cost.

Please provide names and links if possible. Thanks and the most informative answer will get the best answer.

yes, unfortunately i now have a profile that i use to find all my friends. i feel so enslaved. enslaved & STUPID. i cannot figure out how to upload a background (amongst other things of that site) even though i have been tinkering with my website since high school & with 360 for a few years too. but never mind that.
my point is that MYSPACE= MARK OF THE BEAST! i have no real proof other than "what i say goes" to verify what i just said, but whatever. i'm just going to keep on rambling on if i don't stop now.

Im thinking about a Dell Inspiron notebook. This may seem really silly but please help! I cant decide between Spring green and Expresso Brown. I think I want the brown one more since the matching bag has a blue that I love, but im not sure if its too dark! I like the green, but its not that special. What do you think??
