When I restarted it, I opened it and it seemed to have downloaded all the way, how can I be sure?. FYI, it is Windows XP, I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop and my previous IE version was 6. It didn't really freeze, my anti-spyware application just popped up and viewed it as a suspicious program while the download application said "installing core components" or something, but I was able to go the start and restart so it really wasn't frozen, the download application just appeared to have stopped in the background and I couldn't close my ant-spyware window

Surf the web and see if you get errors, thats the easiest way to see if your installation is complete

Re-boot, uninstall IE 7 from control panel/add remove programs, then deactivate your anti-virus and go back to windows update and download/install again.
