Computers & Internet - 11 June 2007

I know there is no way I used that much bandwidth. Can you tell me what do you think caused this. I think maybe there is either a trojan or a root kit on one of my computers. Can anybody tell me if you think this is the case and if it is, if you can let me what are the best programs to use to remove them. Thank you in advance!

Hello and welcome. I have a small question to ask of my media center. It is a windows XP with a light scribe cd burner on the top of my modem and on the bottom it says DVD-ROM. Everytime I use a writtable cd it does not support it. I paid a little over 2 thousand for my pc and would like to use that moneys worth on it. I also would like to know what is the difference between +rm and -rm? I have people telling me so many different stories. I have made a call where i bought the pc and asked what i use the DVD-ROM for and they told me its only to play dvd. I can do that on my light scribe cd burner also so why do i need one on the bottom. Any proffesional answers would be helpful.

I know to you regulars here this must be such an easy question. I think I know how but I just want to double check in case I'm screwing up somehow.

I do it by right clicking on that green arrow next to my screen clock and selecting "Safely Remove Hardware" and then choosing to stop my flash drive..then i here the sound,then i see a little ballon dat say's is safe to remove it..but i sometimes click x on the balloon is dat still correct?

i am tring to burn a dvd, i downloaded this dvd. my dvd player will play a dvd +r dvd, that is what i am using, i can not get the dvd that i burned to play in my dvd player only in my computer is it possible that i am buringing it with the wrong burning option? i have nero premium 7 and i click on make your own dvd and put my file there is this right?

hello i just a new macbook pro. and i'm planning to run vista occasionally using parallel. The model comes with 2GB of PC-5300 RAM. Is that going to be sufficient? I'm going to play some games (not really intensive) on Windows. Also, is it worth it to upgrade my RAM to 4GB? Does brand matter?

I have had my computer serviced for virus detection and removal etc. twice since April 2nd and the most recent time end of last week (first week in June). I use a very reputable computer company that computer maintence is all they do. I am still having strange things happening with my computer like the question I submitted today and yesterday. I sign in to Yahoo many times a day, including today, (signed in today and least 3 times) and all of a sudden the security cert. warning and information bar pops up. I closed back out and came back in thinking it was just a fluk. The computer did this over and over. Why?

i have asked this question befor but i didnt really word it right.my question is i have a hp a6009n desktop with intergrated nvidia geforce 6150 SE.i play games alot on my computer mainly guildwars.i was looking at getting a nvidia geforce 5500 pci card becouse it requirs a 250w power supply and thats all my computer has in it.i had a diffrent computer for about a year and the mobo fried on it it was running a nvidia geforce 6100 intergrated.as i looked at the mother board i saw some chared marks on the processor and the intergrated graphics chip.im wondering if it got to hot.my hp computer is running good but if i play guild wars for about 3 hours or so sometimes the screen goes black then comes back or it freezes.i dont knwo if mobo is getting too hot or if its something else.so my question is should i get this pci card to take off the load on the mobo and in your opion will the pci card be worst then the intergrated meaning will my guild wars run slower allso wil it keep mobo cool.
