'Aero glass' is a translucent effect that comes with Vista Home Premium (the usual version of Windows Vista). It needs your computer to have a better graphics card than it would need for Vista Basic, which is cheaper. (£150 and £100 here in the UK.)
Whether it's worth it is debatable, but if your computer can't run the normal version of Vista then it will be struggling for breath in four years' time when Vista or its repalcement is the norm.

actually. yet i think of with domicile windows ultimate there are greater background centers working. And disable those which you do no longer use. eg: print spooler. If no printer, then no prefer for that. yet at a later factor once you connect a printer do no longer forget to enable it. like clever the digital enter (pill stuffs.. and so on) no longer utilizing aero reduces the equipment load. A clean domicile windows Vista ultimate takes up around seven hundred mb of ram in idle case.
