most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.
besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.
download firefox for free, Just have a try:

Seems you are using 2 anti-virus apps on your computer. That is the problem!
Using 2 or more anti-virus apps cause major conflicts. The multiple programs will fight each other as they fight over every file to scan. This can leave you with less protection, not more!
Choose one and completely remove the other anti-virus programs.

What do you mean "none of them seem to be working good?" That doesn't make sense. Anti-Spyware/Virus programs always work the way they are meant to, there is no "none of them seem to working good".

I'd avoid Norton Internet Security unless you have a really fast dual core machine. NIS can be a real resource hog and can slow your computer down big time.

AVG is awesome, I've linked the free version!
I also have Zone Alarm and Ad Aware. I'd rather have the several free programs I have - they work way better than Norton ever does.

Norton apparently has everything you can ever imagine bundled together, even system restore. Or get AVG Free.
