I have upgraded my PC to:

P5B motherboard
Intel Core Duo E6400
NVIDIA 5900GT video card
2G OCZ PC6400 RAM
320G Seagate SATA hard drive
DVD writer

The MB manual recommends AT LEAST 400W power supply, which means I'm gonna get fleeced for another $100 or so. What power supply should I buy?

I managed to do a hard shut down by holding the start button for 10s, but it won't shutdown using the normal route, window->start->shutdown procedure.

It just hangs on the windows logo but doesn't say it's shutting down. What could be wrong? How do you fix it?

I plugged a little three outlet wall surge protector into a 220w outlet, then plugged in cpu, heard loud pop and burnt smell. It was only plugged in for a second or two. How can I tell if it fried the motherboard? Or if the power supply is even cooked? If the motherboard is gone, is the memory or video card also gone?

I have a MSI motherbord 845 Max 6566
It has an onboard soundcard.
I downloaded the driver from MSI.com, and installed it (AC'97 Realtek driver)
The soundcard seems to be playing and is installed in windows hardware manager, but I cant get sound from it.
I tested my speakers and wires, and everthing works. jiust no sound form PC??????.

I have done what everyone has suggested. Now when I go to find Flash Player, some of you said Adobe bought Macromedia, but there must be 20 sites to download it from...When I went to Adobe, it said I might have to click the gold bar above my browser, I do not have a gold bar anywhere visible, does anyone have more help that they can give me, my butt hurts, I have been here for hours trying to figure this out...Can't watch videos, and could...did nothing to computer, security still the same...Help, my legs are falling asleep!! Everytime i need to watch a video or something on a website it says i need to install flash player etc.Well i did like a hunderd times and everytime i go to the website it says you already have the latest version and that it installed correctly but then when i go to use it for something the video wont play and it will say need to download flash player its driving me crazy.I tried uninstalling too and no help.

recently i download antoi spyware from PCtools.com
but what i get is malicious file, now my pc will auto shutdown after i turn on for 15 mins. it also doesnt give me enough time to run the antivirus to scan the problems
i wonder Y tt could happen and how to deal with this auto shutdown. i cant do anything such as scanning in 15 mins..
