No you should not overclock your Intel. Intel's are not made to be overclocked you will burn it out in a very short amount of time. you might need to get some more RAM or turn down the graphics on the game

Hey hey.....the overclocking is generally to run a microprocessor faster than the speed for which it has been tested and approved. Overclocking is a popular technique for eking out a little more performance from a system. In many cases, you can force your CPU to run faster than it was intended simply by setting a jumper on the motherboard. Overclocking does come with some risks, however, such as over-heating, so you should become familiar with all the pros and cons before you attempt it.

Over clocking will shorten the life your your processor. The processor will run much hotter when it is overclocked.
On some modern motherboards today, you cannot overclock, no matter what you do it will default to the manufacturers settings.
But give it a go if you like.

No overclocking for Intel CPU.

You already have good answers already before me. Over clocking will shorten your CPU life and get really hot really fast. Just upgrade your PC.

Optional upgrade: CPU, RAM, or Graphics card. My sugestion RAM and Graphics card. Depend what you need in the future.

it wont reduce the lifetime but there is no point to take a chance as the difference of speed wont be much. whats the point of increasing 200-300 MHz in a 1.8GHz proccessor. earlier it was useful in old processors as the 200-300Mhz would be equal to 30-40 % of the original processor. i hope u understand my point of explaination.

Yeah if you miss by an mm then surely it'll reduce the lifetime.LOL
Dude if you don't know then don't do it. Because you are here for asking the drawbacks..
Moreover the warranty will becoe void...
Instead go... spend some bucks on RAM
