why not use google images, in advanced search you can select 'large' so it would only show pictures with good resolution(which you can use for wallpaper), then search for anything you like :)
i found nice snake for my background :) but you can search for anything :)

urm..just a suggestion, u can take pictures on ur own about backgroud or people around u that amazes u with digital camera, save it in ur computer, then make it as ur wallpaper, that's how i do.. it's fun! =)
