My friend is new to the computer and just got her own AOL name so she can chat with friends. She likes to send them music files to show them different songs. But she is concerned that when the aim buddy recieves the file, since the driectory says My Documents, she thinks that they will be able to open anything in her personal computer. I've told her that that's not possible, and that when she sends a file, she is only sending that one file and not the whole "My Documents". Would one of you please tell her that her personal files are safe, my own word is not good enough for her lol .

O.K., I want to put a picture for a background in my word file. So I go to format>background>fill effects>picture>select picture then I choose the picture and select OK, then it puts in as the background but the formating is all screwed up, then i checked what the print preview looked like, it is the same as before I put the background. So my question, how do I insert a picture from a file as a background in Word without messing up the formating and one that will print?

I have a dell pc with XP Home edition software. When I had Acrobat Reader (latest edition) on my computer, it was so slow that I had to remove it. Sometimes it would take 10 - 20 seconds between web pages. After I removed it, surfing is much faster.

I tried to re-install A. R. but got the same result, so I removed it again.

Any suggestions?

I'm working in Thailand . I'm trying to do some marketing for a company that I believe offers a unique set of services and tours. I'm trying to send our intro. letter to as many as possible. Being computer-phobic/illiterate is frustrating. There has to be an easier way to do this other than retyping the letter and writing down e-mail addresses 1-by-1. any assistance and/or advice would be appreciated. I need help I have set up web hosting and have been having to use the ip address all day to get there. My daughter called me and said Mom congrats on the web page it looks great and I said how did you know and she said she was looking at it. But when I type in www.extreme-photography.com it takes me back to the place holder that has been there for months. I have shut down my computer and internet explorer and that did not help either I emptied my temp files and deleted my cookies help please.... Thanks

I recently found out that my soc. sec. # and the #'s of lots of other people had been left in an abandoned building in my town. The man who did our taxes passed away, and our numbers have been floating around for anyone to view. How can these numbers be used to find out personal info. on me, such as banking info, salary, or any other personal info?

i have dsl internet. can i connect the wireless router to the dsl modem and get wirless internet connectivity for my laptop? I only have one laptop and i do not know if this is possible with only one.
