Yes you can, but you need to do the following:

1) Network cable from DSL modem should be connected to WAN / INTERNET on your wireless router.

2) Use wired (cable) from laptop to connect to any (1,2,3 or 4) port on you router.

3) Open internet explorer and type there:
http://192.168.0.1

4) It will ask for a username and password. Type "admin" (without quotes) as username and leave password blank. Click on and it should let you inside the router configuration. (if someone used that router before, just use reset button at the back to reset all settings to default)

5) Open WAN tab on your left and change item from dynamic to PPPoE. Now put your username and password that you internet provider gave you. Save settings (or apply at the bottom of the screen). After short period of time if you click on Status menu (at top) WAN IP address should have some numbers (anything except 0.0.0.0). From this point the internet on you laptop should work.

6) As for the wireless part you have to click on Wireless tab on your left, change SSID from "default" to something else (thats the name for your wireless network) and enable encryption, provide a key (password). As a simple encryption you can select WEP and 64bit key and as a password just put any 10 digits ( sample: 1234567890). Click Apply to save settings. After 1-2 minutes you should notice a new wireless network with you SSID. Just connect to it, provide the password and you should be OK.

Hope it will help you. Good Luck!

Yes you can use the D-Link router to the DSL modem to access the internet through your laptop.

Please refer to the instructions on the CD which comes with the wireless router to know about the connections.

It works very well. I have it setup. In case of any problem, you can call to the D-Link support and they can help you on phone. for this.

Yeah, you should be able to. the wireless router should have an ethernet or USB port to connect to your DSL modem, and the DSL modem should have at least one spare ethernet port. there may be some configuration required, but the instructions should be in the wireless router manual.

when you connect your wireless router to you modem you have to set up your router for the internet. it should be in your router manual somewhere. also in your router settings make sure that it enables wireless and that YOU ALSO SECURE your wireless so that neighbors around you or some random person parked infront of your house is not leeching off you wireless internet

C'mon Remer, YES, open the instruction or installation book you got with the D router and follow the instructions. It's a simple process but yo gotta read the book and you gotta plug it in.

Good Luck
