Restart your PC. When starting press F8 key.
You will see options of booting profiles. Choose "Safe Mode"
When your comp. is ready Run a virus scan, remove that stupid anti-spyware.

Peace

Interesting....first off, I'd contact PCtools and ask for their help: http://www.pctools.com/contact/

Or I'd try locating the the program and uninstall the spyware program...see if this helps.

Or you could run your scan in sections...so you can scan a section or folder or whatever within the amount of time yu have before comp shuts down.

Are you running Win XP? If so, go to start, accessories, system tools, system restore and see if you can backtrack your computer to a date before you downloaded malicious file.

Restart your computer and hold down the f8 key until you get an option to boot in safe mode. When you boot in safe mode scan your pc.

its bcoz u have a worm in ur computer...worms are like viruses..if the message is ur comp will shut down in (countdown timer)..then its difficult.dont simply download any anti virus.if u have avg. first scan one harddrive.hopefully it will finish in 15 mts coz its fast.try like that for all drives after each restart.hopefully u may escape...

I would remove the anti-spy ware you down loaded. And see if that works. You can always down load the software again.
