everytime I go onto the internet and get my homepage on screen I get a box appear that asks me to download the latest version of msn messenger and that my contact has asked for this? I use yahoo messenger and only have one contact. I dont want msn messenger.any advice

Hello all!

My sister-in-law has killed her computer. She needs to do a system restore, but doesn't want to lose all of her pictures, etc. Is there any solution that will let me take her hard drive out of her PC, attach it to mine w/out me opening mine up to do it? Is there some sort of USB->ATA connector I can get? Or, will I have to get an enclosure to do this?

I have a rental house web site. I want it to come up when people search but it is not showing up on yahoo or google. How do I get it listed? It is a .ws not a .com I have the name on it that should come up, but it doesn't.

I've got a Mac OS X 10.1.5. All of a sudden I am unable to use i-Tunes. The error message I get is that I need Mac OS X 10.7.1. How on earth can I get my computer updated to that point. I have gone back and found updates back til OS X 10.2.2 and can't seem to find anything earlier. Is there anything I can do to update my computer? I don't know anyone in my area that services Mac. Any suggestions?

I ejected a movie and it made a sort of sputter sound then ejected the disc. I place a different DVD in and nothing happened. I restarted my computer and again nothing. So I placed my fingers on the drive and I could feel (and barely hear) a few thumps but I notice the disc wasn't spinning. According to windows everything kosher! Is it possible to have a drive fixed? Or do you just have to replace it? It's only a few years old!!!! >:(

HELP! I am using somebody's hacked version of Cygwin to cross-compile something. I installed something yesterday and I think it broke my environment (which was compiling OK). Uninstall appears to have not reset things.

gcc calls as, but cannot find it. I get an odd error. Suppose I "gcc foo.c". I will get an error from as about foo.o having "bfd assertion fail". When I saw this in the past, it was because of cross-compile issues. But this time, foo.o does not exist. I notice that the error message is prefixed with the name of the exe file, which looks kinda like this:
C:\one\two\three/../../suddenly/slashes/point/other/way
If you parse the \ and / correctly, the as.exe file is there, but can this be right?

What environment vars could possibly change that would cause gcc or as to suddenly not work? I check the usual suspects like include and lib...and find nothing unusual.

Any help is appreciated...can add details upon request. Compiling mips-elf code on a PC. Thx

I used to scan my photos, and then saved them in my pic album. For some reason, about a week ago, after scanning them, (the same size pix) and saving to the same album, they now show up as thumbnails. I've contacted my scanner manufacturer, and reinstalled the entire program. I don't think it's my scanner, but rather Windows application that's opening it. I've tried, PhotoShop, Paint, Paperport, etc. and I can resize the photo to normal size using them, but if I try to save it like that, (the normal size) they still show up small??? There must be someway to restore the original settings, so I don't need a magnifying glass to view them......HELP!
