Open up the contents of the dvd. Right click and either select open with and chose your dvd drive. Or get the properties of the dvd up (right click again) go to properties and de-select hidden. It won't be able to save this though, which means always doing this.

Or try copying the contents to a new folder on the hard drive (my documents eg.) then right click them, after dragging and dropping them into the folder. Click on properties and de-select hidden, then save. Use right click/open with (make your selection) then save. You should now be able to play the films without anymore trouble.

You can not write hidden files, and if you do, you will be able to see them! Maybe DVD is faulty, and maybe your DVD reader can not read that type of dvd! Try to burn it again...
