i've found out why it comes on...my friend has both msn and yahoo messenger and has added me to her msn user list so it automatically invites me to download latest version I looked in programs and it was there too. Thanks to all who answered.

My guess is that you already have msn messenger installed on your system, as standard, and it needs updating, you can either ignore it, or you can uninstall messenger completely from your system, by going to >start>control panel>add/remove programs and then click to remove msn messenger, you wont get the annoying pop-up and you can always dowload and install at another time if you wish to. Hope this helps xx

i take advantage of msn and function been doing so for fairly some years. final night inspite of the incontrovertible fact that-out of curiousity- I downloaded yahoo messenger, i like it! plenty greater exciting than msn- for now besides, i will in all probability replace into bored of it too =P

You could download it and then go to Add or Remove programs in the Control Panel and Then Delete it hopefully this would stop it from coming up again..

The simple thing is to just ignore it. You could ask your contact(if you haven't already) if they have asked for this and why? Sorry if not much help, but that is all I can think of at the moment.

change your settings on msn so that you don't actually even sign in, this should mean no no need to update
