I have a 1.3Ghz P4 PC with 256MB Rambus memory, 64MB Ti4200 video. i just recently installed XP Pro on this machine and now the CPU stays constantly at 100%. found the cause of the CPU usage to be high was from the spoolsv.exe svc running. If this is needed to print what is my option to stop it from using all my CPU?

I am from Ukraine and I have american boyfriend in Oregon. We have met and he visits regularly but when he is away we talk most of the time of the day, maybe about 9 hours a day on the internet because it is most easiest for both of us to communicate. But the problem is sometimes I cannot always be online so I have to leave for maybe few hours and come back, the time differences makes it difficult as it is morning here and then night there. All this time while I am gone he has nothing to do but wait for me. You have to understand he is a simple man, he use to play games and watch television but this has become too boring to continue. I would just like to ask if anyone has any suggestions for me to give to him to do on the computer while I am away. We have searched together for options but he really cannot make up his mind. Any help is very appreciated, thank you!!!

I always unplug my PC whenever I don't use it to save power. After a few months I can't get started. It's power source or something that was busted according to a technician. The same thing had happened to my cable modem just recently. Is it advisable to unplug any electrical appliances to conserve electricity even they are not being used for a short time?

Earlier, I used to work by opening even 16 Word files simultaneously. But from yesterday, when I minimize a Word file and open the other Word file, the earlier file which was opened by me, automatically closes. This is a very annoying problem as I have to re-open the same. I can't work on two Word files at the same time.

How can I fix it?

I downloaded the Knoppix version of Linux. I should be able to boot and run the operating system from my CD drive. I downloaded the .iso file. and the .md5's. I burned them on to a CD. I then set my BIOS to give my CD drive the priority. When I boot, I hear the CD drive, but then Windows comes up.

Mky comptuer, for the past few weeks, has been goin' slow and isn't wokin' the best ever was, but my virus scanner does not detect there are any viruses. While on the internet, some, if not most, pages don't come up, they come up "This page cannot be displayd..." and on some programs it comes up that the program has to close. What is some websites i can use to get free programs off of to fix these things?

Okay, I'm pretty sure it's a virus... or else my computer likes singing "Does that make me craaaazaaaaay" periodically and shutting down Mozilla.

Oh, yes, and apparently it was a rare Mozilla virus, because that's all I use.

So last night my roommte "downoaded updates" nto my computer, and since shdid that my compuer has been skippinkeys (as you can see on this!). She said she hit a yellow shield that had popped up in the taskbar and installed updates.

I'm having to hit keys two or 3 times to make them type! Suggestions? I have run macafee, adaware, spybot. The computer is a hp pavilion and i'm running windows xp home.
