I don't want trial versions, like Winzip.

I have windows xp, but when I doubleclicked the file, it asked which program to use to open the file with.

If you are running Windows XP there should not be a problem opening the zipped file. If you are running an older version goto www.download.com and look up WinZip. It may not be 100% free but it WILL open the software.

I use Winrar. I not sure if it a Trail or not. I think in times it says something but I just ignore it.
I do have an old DOS Version of PKZIP it works, but, not as easy as a Windows based Program.

If you have windows XP, the program is already there. Just dbl clk the .zip file.
If you don't have windows XP, give a hint what you are running.

It is shareware so after 30 days it gives you a nag screen when you start it, but it still works. Also opens RAR was well as ZIP files

Try 7zip, very good better than winzip and completely free
