I have just installed Norton onto my friends PC and was wondering if he ever needed to do a system restore in the next few weeks to before the Norton security being put on, would he loss it or would it stay on and just restore his settings.

HOW CAN I STOP THIS JERK. HE NOW ABLE TO Surf the internet freely without paying or having any newtork service provider. But i'm prettysure it's from my network he got the internet connection from. We live in the same Apartment. He told me it was GOD who provided the network. How can i verify or stop him from using my network. He's been hiding his laptop every since i found out 4 days ago. His laptop is wireless and i don"t know how he did it. Pls help me. 10 points for the most helpful answer. Thanks.

The old 380XD IBM Thinkpad I have has no place to connect a wire to acsess the internet (that I recognize). I am wondering where I would plug in the wire I need and if this computer is programmed to use wireless internet. Thanks!!

i have a ton of moives in VHS form, i would like to convert to DVD, but a friend of mine tells me every 2-3 i'm going to have to back up those DVD's again to another DVD, (same w/cd-r of digital pictures) because he claims the DVD will break down and movie will be gone, is that true ? i suck at computers, what's best way not to lose my movies but get rid of tapes, and is there a brand of blank media i should get,or are they all the same ? remember i am very computer handicap.

We are able to access the internet without the managements permission, technically were not allowed to but if its just a click away i dont think anybody can resist the temptation. My question is how can I continue accessing the internet without our IT Dept knowing. I delete cookies and clear history after using it but is there a way that they could track the websites that ive visited? Help

On my dads comptuer , whenever he logs onto the internet , and security box pops up and ask for his user name and password. He uses it all the time to log on, but for some reason now it will not accept his password, is there a way to turn this off, so i can log on to his computer and fix it for him, i know alot about comptuers and i need to get online and download him a antivirsue program

I am asking from an LDC and PCs are fairly scarce over here. So please do not laugh at my asking. Help me also know whether buying a clone laptop which are the most available here, will put me at a disadvantage as compared to if I bought otherwise, which of course is too expensive for me at the moment. ok currently i have a SoYO Dragon platinum II
and i just bought an RME 9652. if you go here you can see that this PCI card has 3 footprints and my motherboard only has PCI slots that allow 2 footprints. at least that's what i think. take a look at the pic and tell me what you think

My CD Burner no longer works even if I use a good quality of CD-R. I've tried all the remedies but none of them seemed to work. I just concluded that it is the drive that's not working when used as a burner. I don't hav money for a replacement. As much as possible, I'd like to have it fixed but is it possible?
