Okay, I'd love to buy a new Dell laptop, maybe even Mac powerbook, but money is an issue right now. I can't upgrade to the newest Safari Browser with my current OSX 10.2.8, whatever that is. Panther or Jaguar, or whatever. Without Safari 2.0, I can't even answer a question here (I can ask one, like right now, figure THAT out). The stats: this is a 2001 iMac with some professionally done upgrades a year ago. Its 500 MHz, PowerPC G3. Whoopie! ---My needs: no gaming or movies or anything fancy--just basic emailing, ebaying, browsing. Though I might like to install Photoshop in the future...I know that takes a big chunk of memory. SORRY for the lengthy question, but I'm an idiot about computers and need help. The shops here just confuse me and try to sell me stuff. Help me please!!!! Thank you!

someone in my neighbor has a sniffer and is watching all that is going on on my network. I know I could secure it but I let alot of the local college kids use it and with them coming and going I didn't want to have to issue passwords. This person actually told me he is watch all the activity on my network with his sniffer and high powered antenna.
He is not actually using my Net, but using his sniffer to watch and track what everyone else is doing on my network. If he was just using internet access I could care less. He say it is not illegal unless I security and he break the security. How can I stop this.

Ok so I've got 4 computers on a home network...
I thought it would be possible to access one computer's desktop from another computer using remote desktop but I can't get it to work...
When I search for a computer to connect to it says the WORK-OFFICE domain/workgroup does not contain any Terminal servers...
How do I make a computer into a terminal server? or is there another way to do it?
I'm sure it must be possible...
PS: The computer i'm trying to connect to is enabled to accept remote access... I think!

i have a table with the area codes and the other three digits example
405 area code
585 second three digits
8888 last 4 digits
the last 4 digits are unspecified, im trying to build a list of all possible phone numbers in the state of alabama
i have a field called npa for the area code and nxx for the other 3 digits and my porblem is how can i create 10000 (0000 -9999)
other records for each different npa and nxx? i think you will have to have a good idea of my table in your head to understand what i am looking for. also is there anyway of undoing a zap? or recovering the dbf?
if you could type any script that i need or that could be helpful please feel free to add it

its a program where you put in a picture, tell it what speed, and it makes it like frames of a movie, you have to just barely move your figure each time. very time consuming, but its fun, so anybody know a good program, i already got a camera

I am a computer idiot I guess. On a CD, if it says CD-RW, is that just saying that it is a Rewritable Disk? Is there such a thing as a CD+RW disk? If so, is there a difference? Also, if anyone knows about a DVD Multi player;compact disk ReWritable Ultra speed + Disk Drive, could you tell me if it is possible to burn disks on it? I don't think it is but our tech guy says it should. Is he right?

The college that I am going to has wireless internet capability. My question is will I need my own internet provider or will the wireless network at the college have that for me? I hope my question is clear enough to understand. Thanks in advance. I really didn't know how to word this question.
