how do i remove the old sites i have searched from the list of addresses and from history of my computer?

These are the instructions to delete all your past search history or visited websites. try them.
However, if you wish to delete search history saved by the browser and auto-filled when you type on the yahoo website, here is the solution:

To clear your history from Internet Explorer:
1. Go to the "Tools" menu.
2. Select "Internet Options."
3. Click the "General" tab.
4. Click the "Clear History" button. To completely disable the history function, set "Days to keep pages in history" to zero.

To clear your history from Mozilla Firefox:
1. Go to the "Tools" menu.
2. Select "Options" > "Privacy" > "History."
3. Click on "Clear." To completely disable the history function, set "Remember visited pages for the last X days" to zero ("0").
4. Click "OK" to exit.

Please do the following:
If you are using IE,
Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete History, Delete Files

If you are using Firefox
Tools -> Clear Private Data

At the top of your windows screen you will see TOOLS click there, once small screen opens up scroll down to bottom where you will see INTERNET OPTIONS, click there and another window will open up, look for CLEAR HISTORY, this will clear all internet sites where you have visited, then you can set the clear history site so that it will automatic clear it self in a number of days that you choose, I have mine set to clear History at 1 day..

Click on Tools, Click on Internet Options, Click on the General tab at top, then at the bottom click on the tab that says clear history, or you can put in number of days you want and it will clear automatically after that number of days, then click o.k.
