Can you list some new Linux distros that have Gnome,excluding Ubuntu. How can i make Firefox browse faster in ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake? its really sluggy, and i have a 1.0mbps T1 connection and it should be fast. its even slower than a regular 56kbps modem.i tried using other browsers like Opera. but there still really slow.

hi i live in canada, i bought a new toshiba laptop. it has 1 yr of manufacturer parts and labour warrranty. but my worst fear about my laptop is accidental damage. i contaced tohsiba for any isurance for that ..they have one but its very expensive though and i have to pay one payment all together to them ....does anybody know if any laptop insurance which cover accidental damage and i can pay them little amount every month just like any other insurance.

I would like to make a basic html form
II am not trying to take anybodys passwork as somebody thought before, i just have a book selling site, and my customers would nto appreciate an "You are about to send information thought mail..." and a popup of outlook express.
I have been using other sites, but they have popups, links, etc; and i want this done by myself.
I have an email address which i would like use, but would not mind and may prefer the information being sent to a file (maybe like a guestbook type)
I will have a lot of choises on my form for the books.
Remember, i would like html code

I have a dead hard drive, it can be detectable in BIOS. But when I get into windows, it didn't show up on "My computer", .
When I went to Device manager and clicked on "Scan for hardware change", this hard drive appear in the Disk Drives list. But still, it didn't show up in "My computer", and my computer went freezing for a while,
After that, I go to Disk Management Console (Right click on My computer - Manage - Disk Management), it didn't appear in the list.

How can I recover my important data back ? Thank you all in advance.

Take a 300-350 page book and save it on word. How big a file would that be? I am attempting to write a book and am trying to keep it within a certain range and would just like to know how many Kb to look for about 300 pages?

Or I guess the question could be how many Kb is on written page?

Is one page in Word, default settings, equal to 1 book page?

I am trying to make my mother a website for her small business, but when I use geocities I can't upload my pictures(I read the troubleshooting, but I don't know what I did wrong). In my Compaq Presario i have an Asus mobo with a weak 250 watt power supply. I Bought a new power supply for my new graphics card. My mobo has a 24 pin connector on it but the current power supply only has 20 pins. My new one has 24, so can i hook all 24 up or do i have to keep it at 20?
