It sounds like you are overheating, try moving your box to a cooler location, or adding an internal fan. It may also be your drivers need updating, which you can download online (usually)

its shutting down 5x a day wow!!!!! u probably have a virus on there for one, and 2 it is overheating. the best way to solve this is to format - copy everything to disc, start over brand new and get a good ms antispyware or adaware, norton, mcafee virus program, then go to trendmicro site and run a scan. Then go buy a small fan from walmart for $8 put computer in a ventilated area and then use small phonebooks to put the fan up to the desired height where the cpu fan is located.
1.u will have a new fresh clean system with antispyware / virus programs.
2.the cpu should not shutdown very often from this point forward

What are you doing when it happens? When you say "shutdown," do you mean system shutdown or your system freezes? Occasionally, when I try to copy data or graphics from one program to another, I get a message that I committed some kind of error and the program will be shut down. The programs close, but my computer does not shut off. Please be more specific.

Try checking your power outlet. Also, have your power inspected as that could be a fire hazard. I would also try replacing the power supply of the computer, not the cable, but the supply itself.

CCleaner.com
Download it and run it. It will clean all the useless files and crap that's bogging down your computer and it's free.
Also try downloading a spyware remover and running it.
