Most often they are used for safety reasons.
If you delete them and they are part of an application, the application may not work any more.

Hidden files are often program files that should not be deleted. You can also designate files to be hidden. To do this, go to the folder you want to hide files, click tools, options, then the tab view. scroll down to hide files and check the radio button, click apply. Files and folders in that particular folder will be hidden. You can show hidden files by following the same procedures.

That is one reason right there that they are created so the average person won't tamper with them. The reasons hidden files are created varies alot from file to file.

sure you can delete them to find out what will happen to your pc. If nothing bad happens to your pc you are fine. If something bad happens all you have to do is go out and buy windows and reinstall it. Go on have fun and delete your hidden files. What can you lose. It wont hurt for trying.

hidden files can be temperary files, system files, recovery files, program files or system optimization files. if u want to delete these files you have to be sure where they are located and if you think that they are useful dont delete them because some programs wont work, or conflicts begin to appear. don't try
i fyou are so annoyed from them call a specialist to remove them

no dont delete them some of them are windows system files. you go doing that your have no windows load
