IT stands for Information Technology. Yes they have lots to do with computers. There are all types of IT people from networking to programming. Income varies by field and experience.

The title is but the job varies from Network Administration,Technology costs, What Software to deploy, what program will integrate with the existing structure, which programs to keep off of a network, parity,data bit, transmission of data structures. Security flaws, Network Bridges, just about everything that is digital information is the ITs concern.
An IT salary can go from free, to $11,000 per minute.

IT normally stands for "information technology." They work anywhere there are computers, normally at the "help desk." They fix computer problems from the mudane and stupid to major hardware and software problems. I'm not sure on the exact pay range, but I would assume that they get paid a good amount. Has everything to do with computers. Median salary in the U.S. for entry level is just over $40,000 yr. That varies 10 -15,000 + or - depending on specialty, e.g. programmer makes alot more than helpdesk...

Working in IT in the USA, you make lots for short periods. Working in IT in China, Manila & India you make next to nothing for long periods.

Personally, I prefer the former. I've been "going to work" in my underwear for the past 6 weeks & I think I'm beginning to like Tony Danza's talk show - I REALLY need to find a new project.

it is information tech. so yes it is computer stuff
pay depends on company and such
just gotta remember IT is computer work so it is nothing to have to take 2-5 classes a year to stay updated so be prepared for school

i believe IT stands for integrated technology so therefor i would say it is based on all electronics and they make pretty good money if they go to the right places
