"Computer networking is the scientific and engineering discipline concerned with communication between computer systems. Such networks involves at least two computers..."
"These LANs come in various sizes, from the very small (2 people) to the very large (6500+ people)."
Above were from the links below. In my own opinion, you cannot called one computer/device a 'network', but can be called network 'ready' (when you prepared all cables/devices for it to work).

A lan can have 0 or more computer systems attached (remember printers, faxes, etc can also be part of a local area network) however having no systems attached to your lan is kinda useless...

Sounds like a trick question, but you would need a minimum of two devices connected to each other, such as two PCs connected using a crossover cable. If there is a hub or switch involved to connect these two devices, then you technically have 3 devices, but still two "endpoints".

I'm guessing 2.
As long as there's at least one other person on the network, it should be fine.
I don't think there's an actual limit to LANs.

You can have 1 computer on a network, but you need 2 computers to be networked.

Depends on the setup; however, if you are just using a single router for your network, you can have up to 253.
