It used to play just fine but recentely stopped. It still plays sounds for CDs and other things on the internet but just nothing from movies. Thanks for any help this is really driving me crazy

My computer crashed recently, about 2 or 3 weeks ago, so i decided to repair it myself by restoring it with the CD my computer came with.Everything was OK...Now all of a sudden when I start up my computer i get a black screen that has some code and that the hard disk has detected imminent failure? and it suggests i copy backup files and replace the hard disk...
HELP!
I also get this annoying registry repair that my computer has like 345 errors, but I have to register and pay 40 bucks a month or somrthing to fix this problem...and I have noticed I can't visit any other websites but some yahoo! or others with it "Not Responding"
It's freezing up all the time...
HELP!
Should I just take this to a computer tech to check it out? Or is it time for new cpu?

i just got a dell E510 and when is start up it is a slow

Does anyone know the best way for me to reinstall Windows and all my programs in the least time-consuming way? Preferably, I would like to know if I could use some sort of back up program to burn my data to DVD discs, reinstall Windows and then restore all my data from the DVD burns? Windows keeps freezing on me occasionally and I tried spy scanners, virus scanners, registry fixes, etc. and my PC still freezes occasional on me. Again, I want to know if I could somehow backup my programs so I can reinstall windows, then restore all my programs to the freshly installed windows installation without having to reinstall all my programs. Preferably I would like to use freeware programs if possible. Any ideas as to the faster and least painful way to do this? Or, would it be worth it just to manually reinstall everthing in order to get ris of the cause of my PC freezing
