in windows go to control panel then security center av should be listed in one of the access icons there i reccomend getting a tour of windows cd set you'll never have to ask where anything is again

Most antivirus programs have an icon in the system tray, the icons next to the clock. If you think you have Norton, it may show up as Symantic(the company that makes Norton). Hover your mouse over an icon for a few seconds to see what an icon is.
You can also look in the start menu and see what programs are there. If you can't find out from there you can go to the control panel and add/remove programs to see what programs have been installed.

y do u think its Norton? There r many type of virus programs out there. I'm a computer technician. if u can go on ur start menu look for Norton. read the hanging files to see if it says virus eliminator or something similar.

If you go to the start menu > my computer > C: Hard drive > programs
then it should come up on the list of all the programs you have... look for Norton or McAffe or one of the main ones...
In Internet Explorer you can also go to Tools > Pop-up blocker and see what comes up when you click on it.

Go to start>control panel>add/remove programs. If any antivirus program is installed it will show all over there u can check if u have Norton , Mcafee or any other.

Remember only have one virus program otherwise they man conflict and you end up with nothing. You can have more then one spyware program no problem. Notice one person that answered you has 2 running chances are they have no protection. Make sure your auto update is on.
