something went wrong with my computer and my registry got all messed up now task manager and command prompt will not open does anybody know how to fix them?

on my computer I click on the control panel and it does not pop up, can you help me get my control panel up?

When I click on the control panel, the whole page disappears and then it comes back up again without the control panel popping up. I have defragged and cleaned my computer, but it still wont work.

lost windows xp modem...?

trying to elaborate on an answere to my ignorant question... before hunting microsoft for help.. recently I was forced to reboot my xp windows. eveything came out fine. All programs from the past were back like normal. I can't seem to recover my modem program and this is after deleating and re-downloading my modem program. My windows XP system can't seem to embrace or register its once-beloved modem? Could be the CD perhaps? Phone (dial up) line is all working and properly plugged in, etc.... gee wizzzz... ! I am perplexed-sort'a!

Is it malicious to recieve an e-mail with no address, subject or anything?

i recieved an e-mail with no subject, no return address, and presumably no content. another friend of mine who uses yahoo got the same one. has anyone else recieve this? and who knows what it is?

Is there another program like Limewire that won't mess up on me?

Ok, I have Limewire (not pro) and I've never had problems with it. Well we recently got a wireless router for my mom's computer to feed off of. A window comes up that says a firewall might be preventing me from using Limewire. So I exit limewire but my internet connection then messes up and won't let me back on. (no page display comes up and it kicks me off of messenger) I got my internet back finally by restarting the router. Is there a different program like limewire that I won't run into this problem with? Any help would be appreciated.
