How much Computer memory do I need??

For just using the web and microsoft office on Windows XP?

But, what if i want to play a Game like Doom?

For to play Doom U need atleast 512 MB Ram and at least 128 MB VGA (graphics) card. NVidia G Force 4 Fx , 6600 cards are good enough

You will need a minimum of 512 to run Windows XP and Office efficiently but as the previous poster stated, more is always better. Buy as much as you can afford on your budget.

Minimum 512 for anything XP. For gaming, start at 1 gig. In my opinion, you can never have too much memory. If you are really getting into hardcore gaming, make sure you have a better than average video card. That will inprove appearance and performance.

the min system requirements for windows XP is 64MB 128MB is recommended Min 256 is the actual recommended but for a game like doom especially you need over 300 I would suggest nothing less than 512

XP requires 64MB minimum, Office requires 32MB. If you want to play games I would get as much as can fit in your tower/desktop/laptop. There are a lot of games that require mega amounts of memory, but you'll also need to watch for the other requirements of the game you want to play.

I'd say to play doom get about 1gb of memory or more. to use office get 512mb.

If ur a real gamer put 2gb in there and 100 gb - 1 terabyte of harddisk...put ATI or Nvidia video card
