First off, NEVER DELETE programs! Do a proper uninstall. Deleting a program leaves files in your system and can create havoc later! I am not sure what you are refering to when you say modem program, is it that your modem wont dial up? Is it phone dialing software? Be more specific. If your system wont dial up go to your system folder and find device manager. Look for your modem. Uninstall it and then reboot. Sometimes what happens is a driver gets changed and unless you remove the invalid driver the right one wont load. If you havent dumped your recycle bin find the original software and restore it. If it still doesnt work after you have the proper driver then UNINSTALL the software. DO NOT DELETE ANY software! Once uninstalled reinstall it. Two ways to do a proper uninstall....first, check the program in your program menu to see if it has an uninstaller. No one knows better on how to uninstall it than the people who wrote it. Secondly, if no uninstall is available use the windows add remove in control panel.

Right click on "My Computer". Click on "hardware" tab. Click "Device Manager". Find your modem driver- the software for the modem. Get on another PC and get the driver from www.download.com, then install it on your computer.

you received't pick any drivers for the modem. also, once you're registered on their community - it isn't had to apply the Verizon DSL setting up disk. verify you've all the drivers for that Gateway and format away.
