Ok, I have Limewire (not pro) and I've never had problems with it. Well we recently got a wireless router for my mom's computer to feed off of. A window comes up that says a firewall might be preventing me from using Limewire. So I exit limewire but my internet connection then messes up and won't let me back on. (no page display comes up and it kicks me off of messenger) I got my internet back finally by restarting the router. Is there a different program like limewire that I won't run into this problem with? Any help would be appreciated.

Personally, I would switch to Bittorrent. The file selection is enormous with none of that incorrect file name garbage. All you need to do is download your client of choice, (I use Azereus and utorrent), make sure you have the proper port open on your firewall, and start searching. The Pirate Bay is an excellent source for almost any type of file.

ares is ok I guess, but there is a whole lot of other p2p programs out there. limewire has the largest database of files, but the others have more options... so if your not looking for anything in specific, just general popular stuff, go with ares or warez, or bearshare ...

won't be able to guaruntee its virus loose yet try frostwire. Torrenting is likewise exceedingly damn good. more effective positive than limewire/frostwire in case you'd be bothered with downloading all the stuff :)

the problem is not your windows firewall settings it is your antivirus program settings that need to be set to allow limewire to make connections to your server. once you set your settings it should stop. also look for eny other programs that should have connections to your server.
