It really depends on where you live... is some places the market is saturated with I/T people making it hard to find a job. Alot of companies are cutting back on I/T jobs or moving them oversees. Starting to see alot of out-sourcing being done. But, if you are trying to decide on a career don't get caught up in the numbers. Instead look for something you really enjoy... otherwise you can get burnout!

I think you should break charges into different categories. For instance... Yearly Consulting Maintenance- 2,500.00 Bi-Yearly- 1,500.00 Monthly- 250.00 Weekly- 80.00 24 Hours- 25.00 I have a maintenance agreement with a software package that I my company bought as a add on for technical questions. It cost 800.00 yearly, and is convenient when needed. Good Luck!

Depending on if it is on-site tech support or over the phone. Starting hardware techs range from 8.00hr to 15.00 to start. Phone techs start from 7.00hr to 10.00hr.If you get certs for anything your pay goes up.Also you should find something specific in computers you want to do.Programmers get paid good fast.

most tech support is now outsourced, so most likely, they are quick trained, underpaid, foreigners who work for less than American minimum wage , and only know what information the trouble shooting guides tell them.
