I've shot some good video files with my digital camera. It makes .AVI files, which I'm perfectly happy with. To upload these files to a certain web site, I need to convert them to a different file type (like .WMV or .MPG). What's a good program that does this? I have a fast computer and lots of hard drive space so resources aren't a problem. Please tell me the name and post a link to whereI can read about it or buy it. I'd prefer a freeware or shareware program that I can legally download.

I keep getting these emails from countries like England and Nigeria from people claiming to be lawyers for the estates of wealthy deceased families wanting me to claim to be next of kin to claim the money and split it with them. It seems like a big hoax to me and I always delete them without reply. They inform you that they will need your account info. to wire the money after you fill out some forms or something anyways I am highly skeptical and just wondered how many other people get them, they are so annoying and really must think people are stupid.

I have a website and I want to create a mobile version for viewing on cell phones. I know there is a way to hyperlink a phone number so that when you highlight the number, the phone will recognize it and “ask” you if you want to dial the number. I need the html tag that will allow this to be done. Thanks

It's no longer there when I go to Add/Remove Programs since I removed it, but it's still on my desktop and still on my list of programs when I go to the start menu. Could it be only partially uninstalled? And if so, what else do I need to do to completely uninstall it? I have no use for this program.

do you know which one is a hard disk drive or ideo. i bought this book about hacking windows xp, i want change the boot order of the drives. i pressed f2 when the logo came on then i got into the bios screen. there where all of these words like USB FDD:, IDE HDD: FUJITSU MHT2040AH-CPM), USB HDD:, IDE CDROM: SONYCD-RW/DVD ROMCRX830E-CSM, PCI LAN: Broadcom MBA. i don't understand it, i even searched google and couldn't understand it. the book said i had to put the hard disk drive at the top of the list. can anyone help me with this? i need this compooper technological stuff dumbed down for me.

I keep all of my music on an external hard drive. For some reason, it decided to redub itself Drive K: instead of Drive I:. So now iTunes can't find any of my music because Drive I: doesn't exist anymore. Is there anyway I can rename the drive or have iTunes refind my music without going through each song and re-adding it?

My computer has been freezing up and turning off a lot lately, and I had thought it might had been a virus or needing a new fan in my CPU, but I noticed last night that whenever my phone rang, my computer would freeze up and shut off. My phone was on the same desk as my computer, I then moved the phone across the room and my computer hasn't froze or turned off now a while, does anybody know the cause of this?

hey, well err.. i've had this nano since january. i've been connecting it my computer, it charges, but the problem is, it won't connect to itunes. when i check the prefs, all it says is "No iPod Connected"... then how can i get it to connect? Do I have to reset my ipod? because when you reset it you lose all your files, and i have no back-up files.

I wish to allow internet usage to my kids ( ages 14 and 11 ), but am disturbed how to safeguard them from nude and porno websites.
My kids computer has Win XP-Professiona installed, I have administrator password, and have created limited user accounts for both kids.
Should I be using some softwares like Cyber-Patrol, or Net-Nanny ? If yes then please advise which software is by far best ( though I understand that no software can give 100% protection ).
