I keep all of my music on an external hard drive. For some reason, it decided to redub itself Drive K: instead of Drive I:. So now iTunes can't find any of my music because Drive I: doesn't exist anymore. Is there anyway I can rename the drive or have iTunes refind my music without going through each song and re-adding it?

On XP or 2000, right click on My-Computer and choose MANAGE, then Disk Management, right click on Drive K: and choose 'change drive letter' and change it to I:

Once the drive is recognized by Windows XP right click on my computer, manage, disk management. Right click on the drive "K" and select change drive letter and paths.

You could try going to my computer on your PC, pick the drive you want to rename, then right click, a sub menu will drop down and click rename. Then just insert the name you want

Windows is silly, and assigns letter+colon to the name of a volume. I don't believe there is a way to correct this easily.

Just try to unplug the drive and replug it to your computer - it might come up as drive i again...

You could, if drive I: is not in use, use the
SUBST command.

example:

subst x: c:\temp

creates drive x: from directory c:\temp

subst /d x:

deletes drives x:
