How have the British Government worked out that you are FOUR times more likely to have an accident whilst driving and using a mobile phone.??!!. Why not twenty times, or twice, or five and a half times more likely?.
How do they work it out as FOUR... and is it a con!!??
( I'm not condoning using a mobile while driving.....just wondering how and where the figure came from).

Today as I was on my way home a woman trying to avoid potholes was driving on my side of the road, heading straight toward me. She came from up over a hill, going very fast. She didn't just occasionally move over to avoid one pothole, she claimed the whole lane. My boyfriend was driving, its a very narrow road, no shoulder, no moving into the other lane because there were people driving in it, our driveway is near the top of the hill. So we slowed as much as possible until the frantic honking drove her back to her lane. She was screaming and swearing at us! I didn't get her plates. So my question? If you are driving and someone is in your lane heading straight for you, and they hit you, can they use the potholes as a defense, or should they have driven on their side regardless? I would hope she would be at fault simply for being in the wrong lane because it seems like just because you don't like your side of the road doesn't mean you get to drive like an idiot.

Okay so I live in an apartment and they just plowed the parking lot, but I don't have a shovel to get out. I have to get the snow off my car and get the snow from around my tires. The best I have come up with is using a bucket. Is this best way to get the snow since I don't have a shovel or is there another innovative way?

I saw on the television that in Germany there may be speed limits set on the Autobahn. What are the accident rates like with no speed limit compared to the motorway limits in the UK. Are there more or less?

My sister Just move to california, and they have a truck that has a back seat. The problem is that the seat in the back is not wide enough to hold the bottom of the car seat so She has been putting her 1 year old in the front and turning off the air bag. Does anyone know, if she can get pulled over for having the baby ride in the front of the truck. Thanks in advance!

It seems to me that when you're on the expressway, you can go as fast as you want to... as long as you dont get caught speeding. I was on my way to work tonight and i was going 70 mph. and all the other cars were passing me and blowing their horns at me but the speed limit sign says 60 mph. Go figure...

Driving from Houston to Austin a couple of days ago, I got pulled over in Giddings for speeding 60 in a 45. I had trouble getting my cruise control off--the highway went from 65 or 70 down to 45--and the officer got me before I got all the way down.

He had marked the ticket a citation, but felt sorry for me I guess--I started crying while he was writing the ticket, I've never been pulled over and couldn't calm myself down, I wasn't trying to get out of the ticket--so he crossed out the citation and marked it a warning instead. I asked what that meant, but he just answered that it was a warning, and I didn't want to push my luck by asking what exactly a warning meant.

What's worrying me is that it says "you are directed to appear at court...12 days from this date to enter a ple." Since it was a warning, do I have to go? Or is that directive only for a citation?

I plan on giving them a call on monday to check, since they're only open through the week, but I'm worried now. Help??

I'm in the middle of that nice storm going over Long Island right now, and my driveway and road is covered in a layer of ice. I'm going to have to leave tomorrow, and while I'm not concerned about my driveway, my road doesn't doesn't get plowed, and I'm inbetween two huge hills. What's the safest way to get out? Any tips?

What if a man holds the airbag down in the steering wheel in a stationary vehicle while someone deploys the air bag? Will the man be able to resist it, or will it break arms, tear tendons, etc?

I've never seen someone else turn on theirs while actually on the road even if it gets dark. Its almost like there's a law that says only turn on your headlights when you're at the curb or parked
