Well this can depend on the car and the problems with it, if it leaks a lot of oil it might be good to have oil in it, if its automatic jumper cables, the emergency jack it comes with of course, a blanket and gloves if its cold, a light, maybe some food if ur there for a while, and definitely a phone if u have one

well pending where u live, like if u live in a place that gets a lot of snow, and is cold, aka: Wisconsin, U might want to keep some blankets in case ur car breaks down and u have no heat, a smaller shovel mayb, if ur parked somewhere and u get blocked in by a snowplow. Sunglasses always come in handy too.

Spare tyre, jack, jack handle, wheel wrench. After that the list is endless. A good start - can of dewatering fluid, couple of clean rags, a set of replacement fuses and tail or headlamp bulbs, screwdriver if needed to change the lamps.

candles , flares , a good blanket , matches , some food , a small pot , spare water and a cell phone are things i like to carry , some tools and spare gas are also handy depending how far i will be going .

Stuff to change a tire with, umbrella, sun-glasses,a drink, blankets, jacket, brush, cell-phone charger, flashlight and a lighter... You never know what could happen.
