I have an '03 Eclipse with front wheel drive, new brakes, and new tires. The tires have helped a lot, but people here in Michigan swear that I still don't know how to drive in the snow (I moved from suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where anything over 2 inches generally means no one goes to work). Some tips?

Getting another vehicle isn't an option, and I do not live far from work so sometimes I can get a ride...but I would like to know how to drive in the snow. For example, I'd love to go get groceries right now...!

Recently, I was at an awkward intersection. The east/west street is normal. The north/south has a weird fork. One of those streets is set back a little bit. So at first glance, the street looks like a 4-way intersection. My impression is that that 5th stop sign was far enough back that the safest thing to do is advance to the 4th stop sign, then wait your turn. Technically, you can't really see that 5th stop well if you are heading east unless you start to turn. I almost got plowed by a mean man in a van who saw me turning, and he sped up, BLEW his horn at me and PASSED me. Scared me. Obviously, I will always be very careful at that intersection now--since it's the route I use to take my daughter to school...but just wanted some opinions. What do you guys think? Is this a 5-way intersection? Everyone gets a turn?

what if you can't afford to take your car to the track or your car dont meet requirements, but if you do it illegally its free, unless you have been caught. i go to the illegal races every weekend and we race down lots of roads it depends which one has cops watching it or not. Everytime i go there is like i want to say 300 cars on a small road and i have yet to see a car accident, because no one wants to ruin there car that they have been working on forever, so they aren't stupid, and it is during the night, so why cant people get off there back, they will never stop street racing so why not let them have a road where they can hang out wihtout anyone screwing with them, becaues i always say if your out late at night your up to no good yourself, seriously who drives down the street and goes hey what are all those cars doing there lets go see, i know that many of you wont know where im coming from because you dont race but if you race in cali you will know what i mean.

if street racing is so bad why do more teens die each year of drunk driving and drug use and violence, than street racing. Everyone says street racing is so bad, but innocent people are getting killed at the risk of street racing, well ya but innocent people also get killed when its completly on accident, i mean come on so ya there has been a few accidents where someone was being stupid on the freeway and wiped out and killed some innocent people, but a teenager in a gang has a shoot out and kills an innocent person, or a drunk driver crashes and kills an innocent person, or a plane crashes becuase the pilot was tired and kills alot of innocent people, but yet street racing is still the biggest issue. Street racing is my way of hanging out with my freinds and having fun instead of drinking and doing drugs. I love my car and i wouldn't put me or my freinds in risk of any danger when i am racing, we simply do it late at night and on a empty street so what is the harm of street racing.

It's very frustrating to drive in a city that doesn't have enough street and road signs. Can I write to someone about this, like a city official or respresentative?

I recently moved to PA from TX and have noticed every car pulled over on the side of the road has a rag, towel or piece of clothing sticking out the side window. Is this a sign for something??

If large trucks were kept off the freeways during the day, traffic would be much lighter and we would be much safer. Keeping Cal Trans from working on the roads during the day would go a long way in avoiding traffic jams, road blocks, traffic tie-ups, and closures. Why hasn't our government thought about that?

I want to buy a new minivan & have the car windows tinted as dark as i can & still within the legal limit. I live in IL,Chicago suburb area. The car factory only has it up to 30% tinted glass. Can I have them do it straight from the factory to make it darker? Wonder will it still be those stick on sheet or they actually tinted the glass itself? I never had these done before.

Thanks!

What do you use to clean the brake dust off of your white wall tires? I have tried several products, but they do not remove the black completely. Is there something that you can spray on the tires to replet the dust and dirt?

After receiving a call from a friend who was at the doctor's office after spraining her anckle and needing a ride home, she called me. I told her I would be there as soon as I could.

An inexperienced driver in snow and ice, I did my best to
scrape ice and snow off of my car which took about an hour, all the while, worrying about her sitting there and waiting for me.

I finally got on my way, worrying all the way and scared of an accident on the ice. I guess my mind wasn't on it enough because I went through a stop sign without stopping. A car pulled out from the stop sign on my right, not stopping either. There was almost an accident but we both stopped in time.

Well I got to the doctor's office, tried to help her to the car, all the while slipping on the ice myself. Just as we got into the car, an off duty police officer walked up to the car. He had followed me and was watching and waiting until we got settled before approaching, not to offer help, but to arrest me.
