As an engineer who has to go many places around the US working with many other engineers and scientist, I noticed something...

Virtually NONE of them drive a large SUV/TRUCK...and when you look into the parking lots...cars...and more cars...hardly a truck and SUV in sight.

How can we get these people on the bandwagon with the rest of us...10-12 MPG.

You know, I go camping once a year....that 1/2 million dollar Camper sure looks...

I'm 18 y/o girl and I have a chance to drive a hayride tractor for a festival at a farm I'm going to work at this fall. I will only get a day or two of driving. I've had my drivers license 2 years now, how hard will it be to learn?

I live and work full time in Japan. I will never return to the UK. I live with my in laws, a good situation no stress, but we would like our own house which are no cheaper than anywhere else in the world. My wife recently told me I can buy a new Toyota Landcruiser which will cost $50000 plus! and will take 5 years to pay for. My heart tells me Land cruiser, my dream car, but my brain tells me House! What would you do?

I was looking through an automotive performance catalog and started thinking about fuel coolers (typically a container with a coil inside that you fill with ice or dry ice or something) to try to reduce the temperature of incoming fuel. So the end result is a cooler fuel, which will increase the mass flow rate through your jets or fuel injectors. You have not increased the energy of the fuel at all, actually decreased the energy content of the fuel due to lower entropy. It seems like you would want to do the opposite, increase the energy of the fuel (add heat) and simply compensate the lower mass flow rate with larger jets or increased duration of the fuel injection pulse. Anyway it just seems like an inconsistent and difficult way to add more fuel. I would appreciate any good input from a scientific point of view.
