why are rims called 'dubs'?

i know what they are but why do people always say 'dubs' or 'D's'

DUB is a brand name.

I'm pretty sure you heard..."Ganstas roll on dubs."

Wheels on a car at least 20 inches in diameter, from double-tens...pretty much a slang for 20", 22", 24", & 26" common-size rims.
