It is nothing more than learning the speeds that you can reach for each gear. First is for starting out from a stop--second gets you going a little faster--third and fourth are for cruising, 4th mostly at highway speeds. Downshifting is the reverse of what I wrote--you go from 4 to 3 to 2 to slow down. You need a teacher--a parking lot and time to learn--it will all be second nature within a week. You can do it---good luck

ok no web site is going to teach you to drive a stick the best you can do is to find a video game and buy a steering wheel controller that has a clutch built into it and practice on it or find a driving school that has sticks. the reason that reading wont work is that each car/tranny is different and its more of a feel than a statement as in shift now unless you are drag racing for the basic info see below I started on a dirt bike and yes they are awesome and plain old just fun GL

A website cannot teach you to drive stick. You have to learn by doing it, there is no other way.

Clutch - Shift - Gas. The exact timing of all three is what you learn by doing.

Don't you have any manual gear-shift cars?Check with a car lot, and ask one of the salesmen. It is dead easy, but you have to remember to depress the clutch with your right or left foot, depending on which country you live in.

It's right next to the site that tells you how to ride a bike. lol

You have to learn it by doing it. That's the only way. It's simple, but it takes getting used to, just like riding a bike. Once you leanr you never forget.

good luck.
