I'm 18 and want a motorcycle really bad! I know I'm going to have to pay out the *** for insurance, but I've overcome that. I don't have any experience riding a motorcycle, but a little riding four wheelers (quads/atv's). I'm looking for a sport bike. I'm a big guy (6'0" and 225 lbs), so I need something that will fit me. I also want something I'm not going to be bored with in a week. I like the look of the GSX-R's, but I think they're out of my league (not sure about the smaller engined bikes in the series though). Is it better to buy new (less problems and all the other things that come with new bikes) or used (lower price possibly less for insurance)? If you want to turn this into some kind of lecture don't! I know the best way to learn to ride is to start in a certified course and I know 18 is young, but that isn't going to keep me off the road!

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

1988 suzuki katana 600cc: rear calipers occasionally lock up pretty good, more frequently in colder weather. Ive blead them out and put new brake fluid in. sprayed brake cleaner on the calipers. spread the calipers apart manually. but it always seems to lock back up after used. if i ride the bike for around 10min it usually lays off. but id like to fix the problem...any suggestions???

The stock horn sound like the roadrunner on helium. OEM's are pricey - are there any decent ones at the local auto parts store or mail order? Preferably low-tone and loud (100db +/-). Easy install would be nice too.

it is on a part of the bike that is not metal - the rear, and the paint is a lustrous blue (it is a suzuki sv650 year 2000) but i got sellotape on it and it left the glue on the paint. i don't want to harm the paintwork, so i got some muk off and tried it on it with no luck. I've heard rubbing alcohol will remove the glue, but i don't know if it will harm the paintwork.

Seven motorcycles later and i still wonder if it actualy does anything other then make noise? Yes i did exactly what the Jet Kit says or the exhaust manufacture says. Id assume since you go up bigger on the main jet that yes it does do something. Iv never felt a difference other then the noise! Modifing the intakes on bikes i notice a difference but not exhaust! Or could it be such a small gain in power its not noticable? Im starting to think exhaust systems are a waste of money and hype!!!! What do you think?
