I have gone through two batteries in the last eight months? Whats the deal? There is no device on the car that can be leaking battery power... I don't think so at least... how could I find out...

I want to align the timing marks. However, i just took off the crankshaft pulley and bolt. Can I turn the camshaft bolt. Or do I have to put the crankshaft pulleyback on and turn it clockwise. I know it's going the correct direction. It's just i'm not sure i'll break the camshaft bolt.

Ok car guys, I need your help. My 1991 Toyota Tercel is overheating. There was a cracked hose connecting the coolant reservoir to the radiator. Replaced it, and the darn thing is still overheating. Any ideas?

Recently (about 2 weeks ago)my rear passenger tire on my Nissan Versa was replaced due to a flat tire-it was replaced with the same type of tire. Since getting this new tire, I've noticed about a 4-5 mpg drop. Can that, plus a bad alignment, account for this much of a drop?

What is wrong with it? It's a 99 with 130,000 miles on it. It does not shake every single time I stop...mostly just when I am on a downhill incline, but some days it will do it on falt ground also.

I recently bought a used 1963 Allis Chalmers D17 series 3 tractor. It has a FEL. When I raise the bucket, it slowly comes down at the rate of about 1" per minute. It also doesn't seem to have enough lifting power as I expected it to have for a 54 HP tractor. It's probably safe to say that there is some sort of internal leak somewhere. How do I determine where the leak is? It could be in both the cylinders or perhaps it could be in the pump.

Once I determine the source of the leak, what should my next step be? Can the cylinders or pump be repaired/rebuilt, or should they be replaced?

My car (Kia sportage 4x4) has been messed up. It overheats and sounds rough. I have researched possible problems that is causing this (I can't afford to pay a high mechanic bill) and every symptom to all three of these is the same, so what's the difference and is one harder to fix than the other??? I think it may be a head gasket, because it is overheating, running rough etc. I need to know what to prepare for expense wise and headache too. Thanks for any answers/advice!!

I have a 98 honda civic with a manual tranny and when I was driving on the freeway the other day the car started losing power. As I exited the freeway the car started reving as if in neutral. It revs in every gear but does not move. Is this deffinately a bad tranny or could it be the clutch?

I have a Ford Escort LX 97. I left the dome light turned on for 8 hrs and when I tried to start my car back it worked but I needed a couple of tries (so the battery was low I presume).
I drove for 2hrs and the day after I couldn't start my car.
Jumpstarting worked fine. I got my battery tested and it said battery perfect.

Before forgetting the light on I never had any problems and the battery is 8 months old. Then I changed battery, and two days after I couldn't jump start the car again. Did I damage something?

The all situation seems weird because it started as a light draining out the battery, then I thought the alternator was not charging the battery but the battery was charged. Now it does not jumpstart at all.

I brought it to a car repairer and he said my motor is locked up and basically I have to change car. Is it possible? How could I have driven till home with a locked engine?
Seems the mechanic is not cheating me since he said better not to spend money on that.

Thanks

I have a 1993 white toyota celica just sitting infront of my house and i want to get rid of it. It has 160k miles on it and the front bumper needs a little work and it needs a left blinker light so i cant really sell it. I don't want to just junk it i want to make something off of it. Does anyone have any ideas of a way to sell it? I was thinking to just fix the bumper and the light and then selling it to a teen who just needs a car but i also don't know how much that would cost. Any ideas on any of this?

The computer panel in my PT cruiser is going out and they are replacing it under warranty...THANK GOD....comsidering it is OVER 500 mile warranty. Anyway could the computer panel going out affect how the whole car runs. Like we have a screeching sound when the car starts like the starter is going out. (even though it has been replaced) we are hoping that this is going to fix the problems, since most cars now are ran on the computer panel. Can someone let me know please. Thank you!!

My breaks work fine when the pavement is dry. If i break hard theres no problems but in the rain If I have to break hard I can barely stop in time. It snowed today and if i even break light ontop of the snow it slides. I afraid to be on a hill and see what happens in the snow. Is this a break problem or do i need new tires? Because I never have this problem in dry weather on dry pavement.

Hello, I don't know what is wrong with my merc. It is a C200 Sport 95 model. When stationary the engine is tapping like mad. When I put my foot down the acceleration is so slow! and it sounds like it is revving really really high when it isn't (well it might be, the dial does not say so though). I used to get to 120mph no time, now it is struggling to make 80mph in about 5 minutes lol. I am still using it to get around but it sounds like death. If I put my foot down it revs real high but still pulls so so slow. This all started after I drove to London at 90mph for 1hr 30mins each way with 5 people in the car. I assumed the slowness was due to having a lot of people aboard but not the case as it is still the same now. Please help =(

Hi - we recently had new brake pads put in our 99 mazda miata since they were totally worn out. Now whenever we brake there is a grinding/wooshing sound that the car makes and it has me worried. We went back to the mechanic and they claim that there is nothing wrong with the car. We spent quite a bit of money getting it done and feel concerned that we are being ripped off. Any advice please? Thanks!

I want a loan for a lifted truck. The truck has 178k on the whole car and 60k on a new engine. KBB is $5400 when i put 178k in the milage section and its $6900 when i put 60k on the engine. The truck is listed $6900 and the lowest they will go is 6500. The truck is in good cond. runs good. and has a 4" lift w/ 3" body and 36" tires. A credit union will only loan you the amount the car is listed on kbb, does anyone know if they will accept the kbb price that has 60k on the engine???? or will they go with the amount of miles that are on the car itself?? Also, i know its hard without pics but do you think this is a legit price?
