If your car is an automatic, make sure it is all the way in Park. If that doesn't work try putting the car in neutral. If the car is a standard, make sure it is in neutral. Sometimes the emergency brake needs to be applied before it will turn.

This could be something extremly simple. Try pushing the key back all the way into the ignition. Next check and see if the steering wheel moves any. If it doesn't than the problem could be your steering wheel got locked, all you have to do (as long as this is the issue) is turn the steering wheel to the left or right, which ever direction it WILL move then try turning or pulling the key out

You will most likely have to replace the tumble and key. If you can get the key to the off position where you would normally remove the key, You might have to use a pair of channel locks or vise grips to turn it to this position then use some pliers to pull the key out of ignition. Go to the parts place buy a new ignition tumble and follow instructions to replace or have it towed to a shop for the repair. If you want a shop to repair you might aswell take the channel locks with the key in the ignition and turn to start the car then drive it to the shop.

You will probably need to take it to a mechanic, your ignition rod in the steering column are jammed up. In order to fix it they'll have to pull the steering wheel.

make sure the gear shift is in PARK

may have to push in on it - then rotate right-left
until it settles in it's "POSITION" for removal
then pull it

otherwise - call a locksmith
