I know my question sounds weird but let me explain. On the above mentioned interstates, I have noticed every several miles or so (I don't know how many) there is a solid white line that goes across the road from left to right. At first I just thought this was a Virginia thing, but I have noticed these lines on these interstates in West Virginia, Maryland, & North Carolina as well. What are they for?

Why is it if there is a queue of cars their is always a 4x4 in front? Even a farmer's tractor is tailgating it.

You had to drive to a place 300 miles away for some work. On the way back, your car breaks down on the road. It is almost midnight. You have basic Emergency Road service policy from your insurance company which can cover for towing to the nearest repair place.

What will you do? Whom will you call? Where will you stay? How long? Assume you have to get back to your home soon.

We all know the angst 4WDs cause on the road with its size and gas guzzling properties. Some people justify it with the internal size and blah blah.. but what about those pick-up trucks that you see darting about town?

I think they're disgusting. Yes, they have seating space for 4, but what's the open bit at the back for? If 4WDs are bad, at least the space for luggage is covered (and more usable - but hey, I hate them nonetheless). Unless you're on a farm and regularly chuck tools and stuff on the back (or a Taleban with your gun toting gang going for a ride), what's the point of an open back?

Is this me everytime I go to the gasoline station to get gas I have to duct crack fiends it's really dangerous I usually get gas earlier. These crack heads at this particular station is off the hook because if you tell them no when they are trying sell you something they will get extremely violent. So has anyone been in a situation like this?

I was just wondering about this alternative to riding with my parents to work. They seem to believe my asking someone else would not be fair because of different schedules and routes, and this would occur twice almost every day. This is not an emergency, though my parents would feel they have the right to ask these people anytime. I live with my parents in the suburbs, so there are no bus stops or offices within walking distance. A taxi twice every weekday would be expensive. I do not know how to drive. Are my parents right?
