Has anyone who has driven in different countries tell me if Americans drive poorly or not. Where I live, everyone is tailgating each other going over the speed limit. Even accelerating towards red lights.

I have read articles that say it’s a myth and a pick up truck does not use more gas when a tailgate is up, Others say it does??? Which one is it? Also what about handling? My truck 1993 Chevy and my 1987 Dodge seems to “fishtail from the wind more with the tailgate up also??? Is there any real evidence or studies that will settle these questions?

I have often wondered, when driving, where do the signposts give mileage to? For example, I'm driving and a signpost says: Belfast 20 miles. Is that 20 miles to the city centre or to the outskirts or to a designated location? Anybody have any ideas?

Being spoiled by automobiles, I must brave the bus system for the first time. I have to walk a few blocks to a stop, though I have three possible routes that'll take me to where I need.

In walking to the stop, it's possible to pass by a bus that is following one of the routes I need. Is it good etiquette to flag the bus down and have it stop in mid-travel to pick me up? Or should I just continue hoofing it to the stop and wait for the next scheduled stop?

I just don't want to commit a bus faux pas.

I'm thinking of moving to Long Island, NY but I work in Manhattan. Do you think traveling 50 miles by car, or train for that matter, is too far?

He's on a bike, and he is making more progress than you. He will be home watching Seinfeld drinking a Bud in 10 minuites, and you will be sitting in rush hour traffic grinding your teeth and flipping off other motorists. Does that make sense to you ?
