Depends on which way you go...and where you plan on living....
Let's put it this way...during rush hour at least schedule a good 45 mins one way...sometimes can take longer... I lived in Sherman Oaks and commuted that way....took me a good 45 mins and that's closer than NoHo. And whenever the President came into town the freeways were closed so that did take a good 2 hours to get home via side streets

And if I were you avoid Wilshire as much as possible...I left at 3PM the other day to make it out towards the 405 and that took me 30 mins to make it a .25 or a mile....

Whenever I can...I take the bus because of the traffic and wasting so much gas just to sit in traffic....

You are screwed -- all those places require taking the 405 freeway to Santa Monica.

The 405 freeway never moves anywhere from the 118 freeway all the way down to 710 freeway in long beach.

It is a minimum of 1 hour each way if you have to commute over the Sepulvada Pass and at least 45 minutes each way if you have to use the 405 between the 105 an 10 freeways.

At least you will get plenty of time to see the exit OJ Simpson took during this time.

Well, you will take the 405 fwy from Torrance, Van Nuys, or Long Beach. The 405 is always bumper to bumper. So it could be a drive of 45 mins and up. I would skip Long Beach altogether, only because it's the furthest from Santa Monica.

Not sure about North Hollywood.

You will have to use the 405 Freeway to go to Santa Monica from all those places , which means over 60 minutes in rush hour morning and afternoon .... :-(
If you manage to get something affordable in West L.A. or somewhere like Mar Vista/Culver City , you will be spending less than 20 minutes in your car and become a much happier human being !
