I don't know which is worse......the asker having no math skills or the idiots who answer saying it depends on the size of your tank, how often you fill up, it depends on how many mpg you will get, or it will vary due to the price of gas changing.
The question wasn't how much a 1000 mile trip cost would cost....period. It was asked with all the parameters.....8 mpg, and $2.00 a gallon. Simple......$250

gas Isn't that cheap around here and on a 1000 mile trip it can var as mutch as 80cents pluss you allways want to have spare money. 125 gallons 250 bucks I would bring at least 500 bucks.

$250 + x+y=total cost of trip. Now if you're looking for fuel only, the points should go to Reg.
x=cost of food (an unknown variable)
y=mechanical trouble

depends on how many gallons your tank is, what kind of engine you have, i would say on average, for a v6 with a 25 gallon tnak, maybe about 100 bucks at 2 dollars a gallon, but good luck finding it for 2 dollars a gallon

1000 / 8= 125 gallons x $2.00 is 250.00 but that all depends on how low you let your fuel tank get... the lower it gets the worse the gas milage gets
