Call the help center for the bus line in question. They will need the following information:
- Your starting location
- Your destination
- What time you need to arrive at your destination
They will be able to tell you which buses you need to use.

You get a bus schedule or go the bus stop nearest you (they often times have the schedule posted there), it will tell you when the bus will arrive at that stop and show you the approximate times and locations it makes its subsequent stops. You need to plan your trip accordingly. For example, you have a 10am appointment, the bus comes to your stop every half hour, it takes 40 minutes to get from your stop to the closest stop to your appointment. You would probably want to catch the 8:30am bus to get you to your appointment, allowing time for traffic and any other delays.

You should request a free bus route schedule book or call your bus system's hot line for route information and directions to your destination. It's very easy and simple. You may even ask bus driver to direct you to your next stop and boarding of the next bus going to where you are going! Good luck.

The best thing to do is call Public Transportation in the town where you live. Hopefully you can get through to a live operator. To those of us with a few years on us it can be confusing. I know in Minneapolis they have a big board set up with route maps on them, this is at the public library.

Most of the problems with public transportation can be solved with preparation. Look up the schedule beforehand, and compare the schedule map with another map that you can find your destination on. That makes it easier to find what stops you need to get on and off at.

You get on the bus at one stop and off at another stop.
Many bus companies have web sites where you can download the schedules and maps.
